Taupo District Council reappoints chief executive
Taupō District Council’s chief executive Gareth Green has been reappointed to the top job for another five years.
Mayor David Trewavas confirmed Mr Green’s reappointment following today’s council meeting.
“The role attracted a number of quality applicants and with continuing growth in the district and a number of large projects expected over the next few years, we wanted long-term stability in the top job and continuity with the trajectory we are currently on,” Mr Trewavas said.
“Gareth has a number of skills that has served both the council and the district incredibly well since he has been in the position, and we look forward to him continuing to lead the organisation as we move forward,” he said. “There are some exciting times ahead.”
Mr Green said he was honoured to have the confidence of Council to be reappointed as chief executive.
“Nothing has given me more pride than being able to make a positive contribution to the Taupō District over the last three years, and I am excited to be able to continue that for the next five,” he said.
