Upgrading our free trade agreement with ASEAN and Australia - call for submissions
Negotiations to upgrade the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) are now under way.   The FTA has been supporting exports for nine years and has provided many positive benefits to New Zealand firms.   However, more can be done to address remaining issues and further develop rules in modern trade policy areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is seeking your views on priorities and improvements you’d like to see reflected in negotiations for the upgrade.

  • Do you actively use AANZFTA to trade into South East Asia?
  • (And if not, what has prevented you?)
  • How has AANZFTA helped doing business in South East Asia?
  • What could we do to make it easier to export to South East Asia?
  • What improvements would you like to see in AANZFTA?

Submissions close 31 July 2019.

Please note that individual statements or parts of statements may be published or publicly released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Only your name or organisation’s name and email address are required on a submission. Your contact details will not become publically available if submissions are published.
